What do the Today, Now, Start of Day, and Noon shortcuts do?

'Today' fills the Day/Month/Year fields with the current date. 'Now' fills the Hour/Minute/Second fields with the current time. 'Start of Day' sets the time to 00:00:00, and 'Noon' sets it to 12:00:00 — all shortcuts save you from typing values manually.

What happens when I click 'Remove the time'?

The Hour/Minute/Second fields are hidden and treated as 00:00:00 for both the start and end date, so the calculation behaves like a date-only comparison — useful when the time of day isn't relevant to your calculation.

How does 'Count only workdays' work?

When enabled, the tool adds a Workdays result that excludes Saturdays and Sundays from the day count, using the same weekend-exclusion formula as our Business Days Calculator. The full calendar-accurate breakdown and other totals are still shown alongside it.

Does it handle leap years and variable month lengths?

Yes. The years/months/days portion of the breakdown accounts for months of 28–31 days and leap years automatically, the same way the Date Difference Calculator does — the hours/minutes/seconds portion is simply the remainder after that calendar rollup.

What if I enter an end date and time before the start?

The calculator automatically swaps the two so the duration is always shown as a positive value — you don't need to re-enter the fields in the correct order.

Is my data sent to a server?

No. All calculations run entirely in your browser using JavaScript's native Date object. No dates, times, or results are ever transmitted or stored.
